HTReminder respects your right to delete your account and all associated data.
This page explains how to request account deletion and what data will be removed.
What Data Will Be Deleted
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:
- Your account information (email and authentication credentials)
- All hot tub records and customer information you entered
- Chemical logs and water quality measurements
- Maintenance schedules and task history
- Chemical inventory data
- All uploaded images (test strips, owner manuals)
- Cloud backup data stored in Firebase Firestore
- Any other personal data associated with your account
Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please ensure you have exported any data you wish to keep before requesting deletion.
How to Request Deletion
Method 1: Delete In-App (Recommended)
The fastest way to delete your account is directly through the HTReminder app:
- Open the HTReminder app
- Go to Settings
- Tap Account
- Tap Delete Account
- Confirm deletion when prompted
Your account and all data will be deleted immediately.
Method 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the app or prefer to request deletion via email:
- Send an email to: [email protected]
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
- Include the email address associated with your HTReminder account
- Optionally, include a brief reason for deletion (not required)
We will process your request within 7 business days and send you a confirmation email once your account has been deleted.
Data Retention After Deletion
After your account deletion is processed:
- Immediate: Your account will be deactivated and you will be logged out
- Within 7 days: All personal data will be permanently deleted from our servers
- Backups: Data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being purged
- Legal requirements: We may retain certain information if required by law (e.g., billing records for tax purposes)
Alternative: Data Export
If you want to keep a copy of your data before deletion:
- Open the HTReminder app
- Go to Settings → Account
- Tap Export Data
- Choose your export format (JSON, CSV, or PDF)
- Your data will be downloaded to your device
